Stories from the Gerontikon

The Gerontikon, or Book of Elders, is a collection of stories and sayings from the desert dwelling ascetics and monastic fathers of the Church. It includes entries from Spiritual Fathers such as St. Anthony the Great, St. Ephrem the Syrian, St. Moses the Black, and many others, on topics such as humility, obedience, patience, hospitality, and love of neighbor. In its first offering for young people, Newrome Press plans to offer an English translation of Christos Gousidis' wonderfully illustrated collection of Stories from the Gerontikon. This short children's book brings the hard-fought struggle of virtue to life through the experiences of these amazing saints of the Church. Watch this site for availability information.
