The EOB New Testament Portable is a unique and beautifully typeset edition of New Testament and intended for maximum portability. It is bound in burgundy manufactured leather, and includes a zippered closure. This zippered casing protects the page edges and allows you to carry this New Testament in your backpack, purse, laptop bag, etc.

This dual column edition is offset printed on superior 35gsm bible paper with gilded edges, rounded corners, and two page marker ribbons. This beautiful, lightweight, compact and portable edition is 12cmx18cm [4.7inx7.1in].

ABOUT THE EOB

The EOB New Testament … is based on the official ecclesiastical text published in 1904 by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople (again documenting all significant variants to the Critical Text, Majority Text and Textus Receptus). It also provides extensive footnotes. The Patriarchal text was selected on Mount Athos from among a large number of reliable ecclesiastical manuscripts and appears to be identical or similar to Minuscule 1495 (KR subgroup). The main purpose of the EOB is to provide an accurate and easy-to-read English text of the Holy Scriptures that is suitable for use by Orthodox Christian communities and individuals, while providing an outstanding text for scholars.

Note that this edition does not include the appendices found in other editions of the EOB.

    Portable Bible EOB

    Amazing. It matches the description perfectly, it's thin, the leather feels great and the product is well put together. I recommend it.

    Goes with me everywhere!

    This a gorgeous little book. The build quality is top notch and the zipper makes it great for putting into backpacks, handfuls, diaper bags, and bumpy places. As for the translation, I think it's great. I'm really not in the place of any authority to deem a translation as good or bad, I think it's great! The typesetting is awesome and it requires very little effort to read. You've done well, Newrome Press.

    Great purchase, very satisfied with this New Testament. Received within two weeks of ordering to Denmark.

    EOB Portable Edition

    This New Testament is hard to put down, as it looks great, feels luxurious, and smells wonderful (yes, I'm a confirmed book sniffer). The quality of the Bible is top-notch, with fine paper (VERY thin, but necessary to keep the Bible a portable size), tasteful embossing on the cover, gilded page edges, two useful ribbons, nice end pages, and complete and useful maps. The type is a smaller point size; but, again, likely necessary for keeping the Bible compact. It also features a zipper, designed to protect the pages from damage. I like the zipper feature, but therein lies my only suggestion for improvement: Despite the curved-cut page corners (wonderful feature and another sign of quality), the zipper runs a bit too closely at those corner points, rubbing on the pages while the volume is open (not an issue when closed). This Bible is a joy to own. Get one!

    Portable and beautiful

    The book is beautiful. Pages are nice and not too thin. Illustrations are line drawings of traditional iconography. Print size is big enough to read. The text version is traditional but clear and easy to read. The leather is nice. I love the zipper. Suggestions for improvement: the cover should be a little larger so it's easier to zip around pages. Ribbons are awkward and long and you have to position them wrapped up around pages in order to zip. I would love to have Psalms included, but that's a minor critique. The footnote numbers are hard to read within the text, and then finding the notes at the bottom too - a bit hard because font size on notes is pretty small. Overall this is a gem.

    Best NT I’ve ever seen

    I love this NT. Very convenient nice zipper and case and I just love how thin a portable it is. The pages are thin pages like a Bible should be and the type is very beautiful. I love just looking at it when I’m not reading it.

    The Best New Testament Translation I’ve Ever Owned

    Wonderful Bible!

    This is a wonderful Bible.. The cover is excellent. The pages and clarity of the text are exceptional even though the font is smaller it’s very easy to read. I would love to have a non-zipper version however the zipper is nicely done and secures the book for putting into a backpack.

    New Testament EOB portable

    Very nice size. I do wish the footnote numbers were just a bit easier to see but that is my only thing. I have been able to add a small prayer book and it works so well. Also wish we had a small Psalms to carry around

    Portable EOB

    I love this translation and I love the quality of the book! Very happy with this, thank you newrome press. EOB is a great translation that I wish was more widely available.
    The only thing I would have changed about this is making the words of Christ in red, but it's not a big deal.

    Perfect for travel

    I will soon be traveling but didn’t want to take my full-sized Bible. This lovely NT is small and thin, and best of all—you can actually fit a small notebook inside the zipper! Either A6 or a slim B6. Highly recommended despite the high price. I prefer this one more than the New Testaments on Amazon, which aren’t for the Orthodox tradition. For that reason alone, the price was worth it

    Very nice construction

    This is a little larger than other pocket New Testament books I've encountered, so while the pages are thin like the others the text is a bit larger and more readable. The cover being fully enclosed with the zipper is a nice way to protect the pages. A very minor specific detail that I nonetheless appreciate is that the two ribbon bookmarks are thick enough that the zipper does not snag them but instead sweeps them up into the cover.

    EOB Pocket New Testament

    1.) Best translation out there - not Protestant, but Orthodox and perfectly acceptable for Catholics.
    2.) Easy to carry around and read or reference on the go.
    3.) Translation respects and is in line with the received tradition of the Church
    4.) Excellent bible paper
    5.) Superb binding of leather with a strong zipper than can withstand a lot of wear.
    6.) two useful ribbons
    7.) Can hold prayer cards and notes.

    Beautiful Compact New Testament

    This New Testament is fantastic. It's super slim and is almost unnoticeable in my bag. The print is super clear and easy to read even for it's small size. The artwork is beautiful. The footnotes and translation is superb. My only minor complaint is the way the zipper is attached, it's easy for it to catch the pages and makes turning pages slightly trick. I've had other zippered bibles that didn't have this issue. Even with that minor issue, this New Testament is well worth getting.
