Description

A handsomely designed 56inx27in burial shroud. The shroud, (savanon / sratchitza), is printed in full color on 100% natural 5.1 oz cotton satin fabric, and  adorned with beautiful illustrations of the Crucifixion and Resurrection of our Lord by our Newrome artists. Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, Have mercy on us! as well as text from the funeral service, May Christ give you rest in the land of the living, open the gates of paradise, and make you a citizen of the Kingdom! and Memory Eternal! are printed around the illustrations. 

Unlike most shrouds available, ours has a finished overlock hem on all sides.

    This is a quality, beautiful shroud, worthy of its function in our Orthodox funeral and burial traditions. I ordered it at the time of a dear friend's death, and it arrived quickly in time for his funeral. Thank you, Newrome Press.

    The cotton material and printing are high quality. All the edges are nicely machine finished - overcast like a scarf. I sewed a small pocket across the top, inserted a small rod and hung it on my bedroom wall as a reminder that I will someday repose. I love the reminder that my citizenship is in heaven and not on earth.
